Product introduction
Filter bags are critical components that determine the dust removal efficiency and operating temperature of baghouse dust collectors. The cost of replacing filter bags constitutes a major portion of maintenance expenses. Thus, the lifespan of filter bags directly impacts the operational performance and economics of the dust collector.
Four Essentials for Long Filter Bag Lifespan
(1)Selecting Suitable Filter Media
Choose materials based on gas temperature, humidity, chemical composition, dust particle size, shape, abrasiveness, dust concentration, filtration velocity, cleaning method, and operational requirements.
General Guidelines:
Pulse-jet baghouses: Use needle felt for high-efficiency cleaning.
Compartmentalized reverse-air or mechanical shaker baghouses: Opt for woven fabrics.
(2)Designing Rational Structures
Ensure compatibility with the dust collector’s filtration and cleaning mechanisms.
Key Requirements:
External filtration bags: Loosely fit with frames (synthetic fibers) or tightly fit with small-spaced vertical ribs (glass fibers).
Internal filtration bags: Proper tensioning to prevent sagging.
Optimize sealing, ease of installation, and wear resistance.
(3) Precision Sewing Techniques
● Advanced Craftsmanship:
Sewing dimensions strictly adhere to design specifications, with thermal shrinkage allowances reserved based on filter media type and operating temperature.
● Comprehensive Equipment:
Full-equipped production lines ensure consistent stitch spacing, no skipped stitches or broken threads, and compliance with thread specifications.
● High-Quality Accessories:
Premium components with precise fit, free of burrs or fractures that could damage filter bags.
● Defect-Free & Secure Packaging:
No pinholes, skipped threads, or contamination; robust packaging prevents damage or moisture during storage/transport.
Note: Fiberglass bags must avoid heavy compression and prolonged storage to preserve lifespan.
(4) Correct and Meticulous Installation
● External Filtration Bag Installation
○ Sealing & Fixing:
Securely seal and fix the bag mouth to the tubesheet.
○ Vertical Suspension:
Bags hang vertically below the tubesheet without contact.
○ Collision Prevention:
Adjacent bags must not collide.
○ Frame Compatibility:
Ensure proper alignment with smooth, straight frames free of burrs.
● Internal Filtration Bag Installation
Suspension & Sealing:
Top of the bag is capped and suspended from the dust collector beam via hangers; the bottom is sealed and fixed to the lower assembly.
Tension Adjustment:
Adjust tension to specified levels to prevent loosening or detachment during filtration/reverse cleaning. Re-tension after the first week and month of operation.
Accessory Compatibility:
Internal components (e.g., anti-collapse rings) must align correctly, with no burrs or fractures.
